This about sums up life at Casa Squeaky:
Moose: Oh look, ‘asr time is over. Time to sniff chill by Momma.
Squeaky: Hmm, this looks nice. He’s not acting crazy so maybe we can all just sit together for once. Let me just stretch out here and chill…
Moose: OMGosh, what is she doing?? Is she wanting to play? She never wants to play with me!!!! OMGosh OMGosh OMGosh! *bops Squeaky on the head*
Squeaky: OH HELL NO you did not just swipe at me. *runs away and sulks*
Moose: *wrestles with prayer rug*
I could spend all day watching Moose sleep. Freeakin adorable.

Commission for Jennifer who wanted her late kitty, Castiel, to be her patronus.
it’s gorgeous, sheena!
It captures Mr. Cas’ essense perfectly. Love it to pieces - it’s going on my tumblr convention card :)

He’s only been with me 2 months and Moose already needs a diet! Strapping young cat keeps eating the fat old cat’s food >:(
Look at my lovely new precious! Magical me and the dearly departed (and still much loved and much missed) Mr. Castiel as my patronus. I’m thinking of putting it on my convention tumblr calling card.

Squeaky and Moose update:
2 months of the Moose. Alh, I think things are going very well. Only minor growling and occasional physical altercations at this point. One problem that seems to crop up is that Ms. Squeaky will occasionally work herself into a very playful lather and start flipping and bounding around the house. She doesn’t want to play with anyone, just herself. Mr. Moose sees she’s running around and he wants to join in. Squeaky will have none of that sh*t and starts to growl. This raises the Moose’ hackles, and the situation quickly escalates to the point of a potential physical fight. I witness this a few times a week, although I don’t know how often it happens when I’m not home. I worry, because Squeaky is an 8 year old, little pudgey declawed girl, and Moose is a strapping 2 year old muscular large boy who has all his claws. But, only one occasion where blood has been shed, and I don’t find tufts of fur that indicate nasty fights when I come home, so iA we’re good.
Moose still thinks my couches are for shredding. *sigh* I may have to resign myself to keeping them constantly covered. They’re such pretty couches too.
Adoption application turned in. I’m officially a foster failure. MooseMoose the Large is mine.
Squeaky and Moose update: going well. Foodwise, we’re off dry and canned food and onto 2/3 cooked - 1/3 raw + broth. Moose wolfs his down and hovers to snatch Squeaky’s leavings.
Squeaky and Moose’s relationship is rather ironic. With Cas, Squeaky was the bully who did the picking on and eating of leftovers. Now, Moose is the bully boss. I don’t think that he wants to be mean most of the time, but he communicates with this teeth. If I pet him someplace he doesn’t like, he gently bites my hand - not at all violent or hard enough to draw blood. Squeaky, thinking she’s the dominant one, will groom Moose and when he’s had enough, he nips her. This in turn pisses her off, making her hiss, which then raises Moose’s hackles. Situation escalates and ends up with Moose cornering Squeaky and they’re both swiping at each other. Or, Moose will want to play rough and Squeaky will have none of it, thus leading to more cornering and hissing.
But, all in all we’re good alhamdulilah.
Ignore the fact that I have crazy clashing patterns all over my couch and focus on the adorableness that is Moose.
Today is a good day. I’m home, sitting on the couch marathoning Dollhouse. Moose is curled up on my chest and Squeaky is leaning over my shoulder and grooming him. Yaay kitties!
30 days of going to work, I need the break.
I do believe we’ll be getting more Squeaky and Moose pictures in the future. Their proximity bubbles are shrinking!
