a long and winding road

not all those who wander are lost

I’ve been a muslim for more than decade now.  Last year, I wrote a reflection on a decade as a muslim and on the importance of following the example of the Prophet Muhammad.  A year later, on the birthday of this most excellent example, it still holds true.  If I put my faith in mankind, they will inevitably disappoint.  I learned long ago that muslims more likely than not will not embody Prophetic ethics.  If I am to reach my Beloved, I need to follow the path of the one He sent, the one He gave to us a teacher and a guide.

And today, on his birthday, and always, I remember his example, strive to internalize it and sing Ya Nabi, Salam Alaikya!  My Messenger, peace be upon you!

Mawlid Mubarak!
