a long and winding road

not all those who wander are lost

My tumblr is decidedly a-political compared to my twitter feed.  But I do need to post this here, as I’m sitting at work on the verge of tears.
At least *at least*  AT LEAST 73 people dead in Egypt after a football match.  Football is to Egypt as the Games were to Romans - a way to distract the masses from the rot of government.  Because there was no place in the political arena to vent frustrations and participate, opposing teams’ fans were used as surrogates.
I had hoped, wished, prayed, things like this wouldn’t happen in Egypt anymore.  But now, just now, is the worst football violence in Egypt’s history.
Of course, we don’t know the full story yet.  There could very well be a nefarious government plot afoot to punish el-Ahly fans for coming out in support of the revolution.
Ya Rabi!  All I can do is cry.
